Tour of Lombardy 2013

The 107th edition of the Tour of Lombardy (the race of the falling leaves or il Lombardia), takes place on October 6th 2013. Just like Milan–San Remo this year, the race will be held on a Sunday. From 2012 the date of the race was switched with Paris-Tours, which is now the last classic race of the cycling season, one week after the tour of Lombardy.

The route of this edition is largely comparable with the 2012 one, and includes the steep climbs of the Vallico di Valcava and the Madonna del Ghisello, where traditionnally the church bells ring once the cyclists pass across the village. And then you have the Muro di Sormano, which ensures a hell of a climb upto 16 % av., over a distance of 2 km, with an astonishing climax of 27%!
