In 2012, the new course was introduced : the "Wall of Geraardsbergen" (Muur van Geraardsbergen) was skipped from the program and the arrival was shifted towards Oudenaarde. In 2013, this new course is maintained, and the cyclists will have to make again 3 loops around the city of Oudenaarde, before the arrival. During the last 70 km (43.49 mi), they will have to climb the Kwaremont and the Paterberg 3 times again.

The Tour starts, as usual, in Bruges, passes after 59,1 km (36.7 mi) along the village of Rekkem, this year also the "Village of the Tour".
From there on, the caravan is heading for the Flemish Ardennes and the climbs and cobbletone roads will follow each other smoothly. The first climb will be the Tiegemberg, also the only newcomer in this 2013 edition. During the last 70 km (43.49 mi), the cyclists will have to make 3 loops around Oudenaarde, where they will arrive after 256 km (159 mi) and Tom Boonen's successor will be revealed.
