Tour of Qatar 2012 : 5th stage
World Champion Mark Cavendish (Sky) took his second stage victory at the Tour of Qatar, leaving behind him in a bunch sprint the distancing Liquigas-Cannondale duo Daniel Oss and Peter Sagan.
Cavendish had little difficulty in negotiating the chaos of the finishing straight. After picking his way through a disorganised peloton, Cavendish reeled off an emphatic sprint with 200 metres to go to take the win.
Earlier on Aliaksandr Kuchynski (Katusha) and Maciej Bodnar (Liquigas-Cannondale) escaped, but were swept up by the Garmin-Barracuda-led peloton in the final 7km.
