Via the Gorges de Luz, you reach Luz St-sauveur. There, you can go left for the Tourmalet and right for the skistation Luz Ardiden. The first 7 km of the climb are pretty steep. Only halfway the climb, it gets a bit more modest with a km of about 5%. But the bendy lasts kms are, again, quite hard.address

Zware klim. Eerste 2 kms vallen nog mee. 5.5 en 6% maar dan begint het. De volgende 10 komen niet meer onder de 8. Eenmaal boven de boomgrens krijg hiervoor wel een prachtig zicht op de omgeving. Bijna op de top zie je onder het hele parcours met alle haarspeldbochten. Ondanks de hoge percentages is dit een "bijtrapafdaling" waarbij je (voor wie het wil) op een "verantwoorde" manier (???) hoge snelheden kan halen.
