The Col d"Allos is situated on the verge of the Parc National du Mercantour. Starting form Allos, hence it"s name, you can see the Mont Pelat on your right hand side. The road is small and intimate and never getting too hard, so very enjoyable for climbers. The surrounding hills do feed the Verdon, which source lies to the west of the Col d"Allos on the flanks of the Les Trois Evêches. After you"ve passed La Foux d"Allos, the climb becomes steeper with 7-8% average. Numerous hairpins bring you to the top at 2440 meter.address
