Depuis Urdos (64), premier village de la vallée d'Aspe jusqu'en haut du col (ancienne frontière franco-espagnol) il y a 15 km.
Les premiers 6 km permettent d'atteindre "Les forges d'Abel" entrée du tunnel routier. En prenant à gauche commence l'ascension.
A l'arrivée à 1640 mètres le spectacle est magnifique comme tout le long de la montée.
Depuis "Les forges d'Abel" jusqu'au sommet il a fallu 1 heure.
