Decent gradient for the best part of 600M climbing. Road condition good but rough up to the reservoir. The best bit of altitude Ive found in this part of Wales.address

A beautiful ride that takes you up into the mountain.
The maximum gradients are a lot steeper than the stated 5.4%. The ramps get into double figures (about 10/12%).
The top section is on an access road. You carry your bike through the kissing gate to the left of the padlocked road gate. After that there is a couple of km of traffic free cycling up into the Cwm. Watch out for descending cyclists.
When you descend, approach the the middle of the three cattle grids with caution. There is a lip on the lower side of it that is notorious for wrecking rims and can take you down if you hit it at speed. Mwynhau y reid / Enjoy the ride.
