The Cauberg is about 1200m (0.745 mi) long at about av. 6 %. The steepest part, about half way, is at 13%. Not at all the heaviest climb in Limburg.
However, it's the most famous climb of the entire Netherlands. That's because it's often included in major cycling events. The Cauberg was included in 5 World Championships, including the 2012 Edition of the World Championships road cycling. And since 2003 it's the finish of the Amstel Gold Race. Even the Tour de France included the Cauberg in one of the stages. It's a nice road that turns uphill in an elegant way, starting from the center of Valkenburg through the forest. The bridge across the Cauberg gives the spectators a beautiful view of the cyclists from above.

Mooie streek.
