La Moulinal is located between Lougratte and Castillonnès, two small villages in the very northern part of the department of Lot-et- Garonne (47), close to the border with the Dordogne (24) and halfway between Bergerac and Villeneuve-sur-Lot, less than 30 minutes driving from either town. The distance to Bergerac airport (with regular flights from Ryanair and FlyBe) is only 20 km!
This region is an ideal holiday location with a wealth of cultural history, a diversity of interesting sites, numerous footpaths, several hundred km of navigable waterways and many other attractions.
Strong recommendations in the close vicinity (<30 km) are the castle of Monbazillac, the abbey of Cadouin and the medieval towns of Issigeac (10 km) Monflanquin (15 km) and Monpazier (25 km). The impressive castles of Biron and Bonaguil are also top attractions.
In order to help digest the fabulous food and wines from the region, many sport activities are on offer. Hiking, cycling and mountain-biking, can be complemented with horse-back riding, kayaking or playing golf on the magnificent 18 hole championship course in the vicinity (< 15 km). Tennis can be played in Castillonnès, about 5km away (keys and info at the "office du tourisme").
A popular activity is off course to visit the local markets with their great variety of local produce ranging from dried prunes over a vast selection of cheeses and wines to great tasting sun-ripe fruits and all-the-way to perfumed soaps.
