We are Sandy and Jose, a Belgian-Spanish couple. In 2008, we fell in love on this region in Spain and decided to buy an old masia and restored it., it was finally in 2013 that we opened our B & B, Masia Atalaya I. Meanwhile, we have a second masia, Masia Atalaya II restored to rent.
The houses are completely surrounded by almond and pine trees. There is almost no passing cars on the inside road leading to the houses. Masia Atalaya I and II are very recently, but we have managed already to build a nice clientele. We are on about 4 km from the village, wonderfully quiet and yet everything you need close by. And everywhere you look, you have magnificent views.
As we have a lot of olive and fruit trees, we have our own olive oil, and we make our own jams for breakfast.
Our B & B, Masia Atalaya I has 3 rooms all situated around a central patio. There is a pool, petanque court, hammocks, several smaller terraces, picnic table in the woods and much more. There is also a gas BBQ for common use on the terrace. We have toys for children and animals are welcome. We ourselves have a few dogs (which we never leave alone with our guests although they are very social), a few cats, dwarf rabbits and chickens for the eggs.
Our three rooms have names of rivers and places in the Maestrat
1 / Monlleó is a chalet with 2 bedrooms, a kitchenette, a bathroom with shower and a seperate toilet. In the living room there is a sofa bed available. Furthermore, there is air conditioning, heating, TV, DVD and wifi.
2 / Rambla de la Viuda is a studio on top of the new part of the masia. It is a very spacious room with a double bed, a sofa bed for 2 persons, a kitchenette and a bathroom with shower. Furthermore there is a dining table, air conditioning, heating, TV, DVD and wifi.
3 / Meanes is a double room with bathroom in the old part of the house. Here is heating, but no air conditioning because it is not necessary through the thick walls, TV, DVD and wifi.
To use WIFI, you just have to request the code from us.
Our separate standing house, Masia Atalaya II, is a house with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There is a large, fully equipped kitchen with utility room with washing machine, freezer and fridge. There is a large dining room and a cozy lounge. Outside there is a nice terrace with beautiful views.
There is no pool, but since it is only on 100 meters from the B & B, the pool can be used there.
You can have breakfast with fresh products, such as homemade jams, local honey, and eggs from our hens, homemade cakes etc ... But for those who prefer to make breakfast themselves, you have your own kitchenette to do it.
