Southern Rhône Valley: Les 4 Vallées

This area is located on the southern slopes of the Rhone Valley and covers the four ski areas of Verbier - Nendaz - Thyon - Veysonnaz.
During the summer season you can ride the entire skiing area by mountainbike. The main telecabins remain open. They make the connection possible between the different trails and bring you to breathtaking sites, from which you will be able to continue your route.

Tour du Mont-Fort
One of the most famous challenges is the Tour du Mont-Fort. This route covers a distance of 50 km and is fitted for (trained) amateur bikers. However, one must have experience driving on gravel and mountain roads. The total climb stretches for some 6 km, mainly on unpaved mountain tracks. The highlight of the trip, in both meanings of the word, is reached by a cable lift. In this way one easily reaches an altitude of 2894 m. The descent of the Col des Gentianes, facing the Mont-Blanc, is not only one of the highlights of this trip, but is also the hardest part. It's only possible to ride this tour during the months July and August.

You can opt for different formulas, depending upon your capacities and upto the different places to start. There's either the "Pro RIder" formula, with start in Verbier, Nendaz or La Tzoumaz, or either the "Easy Rider" formula, also with start in Verbier Nendaz or La Tzoumaz, yet with a less technical track.

The area of Les 4 Vallées is world famous for his single tracks, which bring the cross country mountainbiker to the most breathtaking spots.

Verbier

Here you'll find the Verbier & La Tzoumaz Bike Park where downhill enthusiasts have the space to practice their skills, regardless of their level.
Further on, you'll find some specialized organizations over here, which offer well organized bike holidays.

The Grand Raid

This is the main mountain bike marathon in the Alps. Participants follow a trail of 125 km* from Verbier to Grimentz. You'll pass the villages of Verbier - Veysonnaz - Evolène - Grimentz - Hérémence - Nendaz - Sion - La Tzoumaz - St Martin - Thyon. More details are available on www.grand-raid.ch.
