Costa de la Luz

The Costa de la Luz is the Atlantic coast of Andalusia. The coast stretches from Tarifa in the south to the border of Portugal in the northwest. The coast thanks its name to the fact that there's a lot of sunlight (more than 3000 hours of sunshine per year). The largest part of the Costa de la Luz has preserved its typical Andalusian character. The most important towns in this region are Huelva, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz - which is the oldest city in Europe - and Tarifa. In this region, we also find a number of national parks including the Doñana National Park. In this area, many migratory birds have a rest on their way from northern Europe to Africa. The Guadalquivir River flows into the Doñana National Park.

Some trips we can recommend:

Chipiona - Rota and return 50.10 km track bike or mountain bike

This trip takes us from the coastal town of Chipiona along the coast to the quiet, but pleasant seaside resort of Rota. We return via a more inland route.
