The Tour of Switzerland (Tour de Suisse) edition 2012 takes place between Sat. 09/06 and Sun. 17/06.

It consists of 9 stages, among which 2 time trials (incl. the prologue) :

1. Sat 09-06: Lugano – Lugano TT, 7.3km (4.53 miles)


Peter Sagan (Svk - Liquigas) has woon the prologue. He was 4 sec. faster than favorite Fabian Cancellara.

Rui Costa (Por - team Movistar) has won the first stage in the Tour of Switzerland. He passed over an exhausted Fränk Schleck in the final meters and becomes overall leader.

Peter Sagan (Svk - Liquigas) has won the second stage in the Tour of Switzerland.He left, in a difficult mass sprint, Baden Cooke behind him. Rui Costa remains overall leader.

Peter Sagan (Svk - Liquigas) has won the third stage in the mass sprint. Rui Costa remains leader.

Vladimir Isajtsjev (Rus-Katjoesja) has won the fourth stage. He was the fastest of the leading group.

Peter Sagan (Liquigas) has his fourth victory in the pocket. in the Tour of Switzerland. This time he defeated Ben Swift in the sprint uphill. The Portugese Costa remains leader.

Fredrik Kessiakoff (Swe - Astana) was the fastest in the indicivual TT, with 2 seconds ahead of Fabian Cancellara. Rui Costa remains leader.

Michael Albasini (CH-GreenEdge) was the fastest in the mountain stage towards Arosa. He had succesfully escaped earlier on. Rui Costa remains leader in the nick with 14 sec. advantage.

Rui Costa (Por - team Movistar) has won the Tour of Switzerland. The tough final stage was won by Tanel Kangert (Est) in the sprint.
