Tirreno-Adriatico 2013

The Italian spring race Tirreno Adriatico "la corsa dei due mari" (race of the two seas: the Tyrrhenian and the Adriatic) starts on 6 March with a 16.9 km (10.5 mi) team time trial and ends six days later with an individual time trial in San Benedetto del Tronto.

The driving schedule this year is a perfect balance between time trial, tough rides and flat stages. The team time trial is followed by two transition stages. The second stage to Indicatore and the ride to Narni Scalo are ideal for sprinters. On the fourth day there is a climb to Prati di Tivo. During the fifth stage, the riders will have to climb the Passo Larciano at 40 km (24.85 mi) from the uphill finish in the streets of Chieti. The last ride is a good preparation for Milan-San Remo. The final day includes a short individual time trial.

Tirreno-Adriatico, takes place from Wednesday 6 to Tuesday, March 12. Last year, the final victory went to Vincenzo Nibali.
