BPost Bank Trophy Cyclocross

Until October 10 2012, the BPost Trophy was known as The GvA (Gazet van Antwerpen) Trophy Cyclocross. It has its origins in Antwerp (°1987), after the integration of 7 organizations of A cyclocrosses in the provincie of Antwerp into one single criterium. Initially, it was baptized the Super A-trophy. But almost immediately, the newspaper "De Gazet van Antwerpen" (GvA) was willing to sponsorize the event. That's how the GvA Trophy was born. The first contest of this trophy took place on November first 1987 in Putte-Peulis (Be). From October 10 2012 on, the name was changed into BPost Bank Trophy.

Originally, the GvA Trophy was focused on the sub-top. But as the prize money started to increase, also the top athletes in this discipline started to participate. And that's how the GvA Trophy became a Belgian classic, that occasionally also takes place outside the province of Antwerp.
