Head towards Kendal from The Punch Bowl at Underbarrow. After a short climb, the road dips, heads right past some cottages and then starts climbing up to a hairpin. After the hairpin it flattens out a bit, but its still uphill. After passing the old toll house, the road kicks up and keeps going up. The climb after the last right hand bend is deceptive. Watch for the car park on the left.
