The Grand Massif (Haute Savoie) by bike

La Vallée du Giffre is a beautiful piece of nature, situated in the Haute Savoie (French Alps). During Summer, it's a real cycling paradise, dominated by the majestuous Mont Blanc and Mont Buet, counting innumerable cycling routes, both for race bikers as for mountain bikers.

Race BIke :
For race bikers, the cosy village of Samoëns is the ideal place to start, situated at the foot of the Joux Plane, famous from the Tour de France. The cols de Romme, Forclaz, Ramaz and Colombière are also famous and nice challenges.  Not to mention the large amount of unknown climbs and routes, waiting to be discovered! From June till September, it's the ideal cycling destination.

Mountainbike :
During Summer, the Grand Massif counts 8 opened ski lifts, which give you access to 350km of marked trails : green, blue, red or black, perfectly signposted and which bring you to the most beautiful spots. Because of the fact that the Grand Massif is still a relatively unknown mountainbike destination, there are also a lot of unknow mountainbike tracks to be discovered, hidden in the large forests.

The Grand Massif offers possibilities for each discipline : crosscountry, downhill ... And if you cross the Joux Plane in Samoëns, you'll arrive in Les Portes du Soleil : with 24 opened ski lifts during Summertime, ti's the Mecca of downhill Mountainbike !
