2012 Olympics - London: BMX
BMX is an Olympic discipline since the Beijing Games in 2008. The word BMX stands for Bicycle Moto Cross. Nowadays the sport consists of six disciplines with three different types of bicycles.

Up to 80 participants are qualified for the Games in London for this discipline, including 50 men and 30 women.
The BMX park was built next to the Velodrome and includes a 6,000 seats. The race course is approximately 400 meters (437.4 yd) long. After the Games, the temporary seats will be removed and the BMX park will become part of the London Velo Park, which will include a mountain bike trail.
The BMX finals took place on August 10th.
